Why is secure email communication important?
Email Encryption is an important security feature that protects confidential information from unauthorized access and data theft. Are your emails protected by the secrecy of correspondence?
According to Section 10 of the Constitution of Finland, the secrecy of correspondence, telephone communications, and other confidential communications is inviolable. Confidentiality of Communications (formerly known as the secrecy of correspondence) applies to any message that has been intentionally secured so that it cannot be opened accidentally. An unencrypted email therefore does not fall within the constitutional protection afforded to confidential communications.
